Power BI with Business Central on-premise and in the cloud

Learn how to use consume data directly from Business Central in Power Bi. We will focus on how to consume data both by using the standard connectors in Power Bi and creating homemade connectors using web-services and APIs and testing the difference between an on-premise solution and the cloud. Then we will clean up the datasets so we only get the relevant fields and make sure that the datatypes are correct.

We will Create reports in Power Bi showing the different types of visualizations to highlight the relevant information to the users. This includes:

  • Different uses of the different visualizations
  • Calculated columns
  • Measures
  • Date tables
  • Fixed datasets
  • Comparing this period with last year
  • Drill through filters
  • Making reports for multiple companies

Then we will go through the process of publishing the reports, making dashboards and sharing the reports and dashboard.
